Mitra and Matt on film

I got to play with my Hasselblad 500 while in L.A for Mitra and Matt’s wedding. I brought it out mostly for their engagements but took a few on their wedding day too.

Saturday morning before Mitra and Matt’s ring ceremony we stopped over at Richard Photo Lab to drop off the film. We ended up leaving a half hour after we arrived from talking with the nice guys who work there. I recommend them highly!

Mitra and Matt – Ring ceremony and reception-Wisconsin wedding photographer

Saturday was a big day for Mitra and Matt. They decided to do a ring ceremony and celebrate after with a reception at the Sofitel in Beverley Hills. The staff at the Sofitel let us take Mitra and Matt on the roof for some photos after the ceremony. It was a beautiful view of Los Angeles and you could see the Hollywood sign as well.

I loved their confetti themed reception. It was breathtaking when it was all set up with the pink lights. I also loved their “guestbook” idea. They had their guests sign their names and a message on travel stickers and put them on an old suitcase. They served Persian food and I gotta say that Persian food is now my favorite. I loved it and I’ll be on the hunt for a Persian restaurant somewhere in Wisconsin :)

Thank you Mitra and Matt for flying me out to shoot your beautiful wedding. We had so much fun! Live happy and healthy in Hong Kong!

Mitra and Matt – Temple – Wisconsin wedding photographer

It was a pretty quiet and beautiful day around the Temple on Friday. Mitra and Matt had the Temple all to themselves. We decided to take bride & groom portraits around the temple before they went in to get married. The sun looked amazing when they came out of the temple so we quickly did some portraits with the setting sun. I showed Mitra and Matt one of the photos near the end with the sun behind them on my camera. Mitra put her hand on her heart and said “Anna. I love you”. I love you too Mitra!

They had to spend the majority of their engagement apart with Matt being in Hong Kong mostly for work. Mitra and Matt will be living in Hong Kong after their honeymoon.

Ring ceremony and recpetion coming up next!

Mitra and Matt engagements

The day Jonathan and I flew into Los Angeles, we shot Mitra and Matt’s engagements. We really had no plan for the shoot. We just decided to walk around where our hotel was and chase light wherever it went. We found some interesting spots and even went into the Union Station. I used my Hasselblad for their shoot too and will be posting some of those next week. For now, here are some taken with my digital. Temple portraits coming up next!

Mitra and Matt preview

I just got back from L.A shooting Mitra and Matt’s fun filled wedding weekend. We shot their engagements on Thursday, Temple portraits on Friday, and ring ceremony and reception on Saturday. It was a long weekend but so much fun and I miss L.A already. There are so many photos to share so each day will have it’s own post. I’ll also be sharing some of the photos I shot on film. I haven’t received the film photos yet(should be on Friday) but I’m so giddy to see them! Here is a little preview for what’s to come!
